In this term’s edition, discover how Crimson Global Academy is reshaping the learning week in our Online Schools Spotlight, and explore the latest developments in remote invigilation. We also introduce the new

Community Café, a space for online schools to connect and share ideas.

Learner data collection for 2025

Last week, all Cambridge online schools received the annual learner data collection form. The information you provide is essential for generating invoices and maintaining an accurate record of our global online learning community.

Completion of the form is mandatory for all online schools, even if:

• Your learner numbers have not changed since last year, or

• You currently have no online learners.

Please ensure that all students enrolled on Cambridge programmes are included, not only those sitting exams this year.

The deadline to submit the form is Friday, 19 September.

Exploring remote invigilation

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback in last year’s online school survey — we heard you! A key priority identified was the need for remote invigilation, enabling students to sit Cambridge exams from home without the challenge of accessing an examination centre.

We’re pleased to share that our first small-scale remote invigilation trial will take place in January 2026 with a small number of online schools. This will be the first in a series of trials designed to test the technology requirements and proctoring software, as well as the scalability of remote invigilation, with the long-term aim of offering it alongside our digital assessment options.

This term, our spotlight shines on Crimson Global Academy (CGA), a world-leading Cambridge online school that’s pushing the boundaries of modern learning. In 2025, CGA made headlines by launching a four-day academic week—and the response has been incredible. Students, parents, and educators alike have welcomed the change, with early indicators pointing to gains in both academic achievement and personal growth.

Celebrating success:

results reporting round-up

Each exam series, our results reporting service provides online schools with a detailed breakdown of their students’ grades. For the June series this year, more schools than ever chose to take part, and we were happy to celebrate your students’ hard work and success with you.

The service will be available again for the November series—so keep an eye out for your invitation in the coming months.

Introducing the Cambridge Online Schools Community Café

Great conversations spark great ideas! Earlier this year, several of our online schools took part in a research project and told us how valuable it was to connect with fellow educators facing similar challenges and opportunities in online learning.

We’re excited to introduce the Community Café — a new termly space for online teachers to come together, share experiences, and exchange fresh ideas.

First session: Wednesday, 12 November at 12:00 GMT

Format: An informal discussion around the challenges of teaching online with an opportunity to share your tips and suggestions for what works well in the online classroom. Come along and learn from other practitioners at Cambridge online schools.

New wellbeing podcast for educators and students

This summer, we released the third episode in our Cambridge Online Schools podcast series. In this episode, we explore how to support online students with their wellbeing, featuring insights from Louis Bone, Senior Online Schools Development Manager at Cambridge, and Dr Ali Fisher, Manager of Advanced Studies, Assessment at Florida Virtual School (FLVS).
