Welcome to the June 2026 edition of Cambridge Spotlight, our newsletter for universities globally. Here at Cambridge, our June series has ended and teams are working hard to prepare for results release in August. If you’d like a refresher on how to use our results verification service, please sign up for our webinar on 29 July (further details below).
This series has seen the first digital Cambridge exams taken by schools in our early adopter programme. Over the next few years, we’ll be working closely with Cambridge schools to roll out further digital options across Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Levels. You can read more about our approach to digital exams here.
Cambridge cancelled the June exam series in some countries in the Middle East, and grades will be awarded using our established Portfolio of Evidence route. Results will reflect the same standards and level of attainment and are due to be released as usual in August. As a reminder, Cambridge International AS & A Level results will be released on Tuesday 11 August, followed by Cambridge IGCSE and O Level results on Tuesday 18 August.
Finally, our team is travelling over the months ahead and looking forward to meetings with universities and colleges. We’ll be attending the International ACAC conference in Pittsburgh, USA (July) and the Annual IC3 Conference in Mumbai, India (August). Do look out for Cambridge if you’re going to these events.

Webinar for universities: Results verification service
Looking ahead to June series results release in August, we’re pleased to offer a webinar to showcase our free results verification service, Cambridge International Direct (Direct). Whether you’re an experienced user or curious about the service, please join us for a demonstration and to find out which qualifications can be verified. We’ll also share details of our services for those qualifications that cannot be verified using Direct.

Subject knowledge: critical for success in higher education and beyond
Cambridge’s recent research into future-readiness revealed that schools globally are facing similar challenges in preparing students for a changing world – and to solve them, we need to work together.
This shared responsibility inspired our first-ever Cambridge International Schools Day in Sub-Saharan Africa, held at the International Community School in Accra, Ghana on 21 February. The one-day conference focused on the theme, ‘Future ‑Ready: Navigating a Changing Educational Landscape’ and was built on insights from our Preparing Learners to Thrive in a Changing Worldreport.
Araba Botchway, Executive Director, Admissions and Financial Aid at Ashesi University, Ghana, facilitated the breakout session, ‘Subject Knowledge: Critical for Success in Higher Education and Beyond’.

We work closely with higher education institutions worldwide to make sure that Cambridge students can progress smoothly to the next stage of education.
As part of this work, we have formed a Strategic Higher Education Advisory Council (SHEAC) to help increase the understanding of Cambridge qualifications among the global university community. It is made up of senior enrolment staff at leading global institutions in the US, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, South Africa, India, Japan, Spain and the UK. The Council meets once a year in July, and advises on an ongoing basis.
Regional Higher Education Advisory Councils (HEACs) have been introduced in Japan, Australia, Europe and the USA to bring together senior admissions and enrolment staff from institutions within that country or region. HEACs strengthen our connections with higher education and help smooth progression, including in emerging destinations for Cambridge students.
